slowing down, breathing

A friend reminded me lately of the music of Estonian composer Arvo Part, and suggested I listen to this piece of music. There are various versions on youtube. At first I thought it was too slow, but after I listened to it, I was feeling pretty mellow.

Cheers,
Julie

I absolutely needed this at this time in my life. I am having surgery possibly next week. If only I could have this music nearby to help me relax. The outstanding art work as well has placed a peaceful easy feeling inside my heart.
    Blessings and thank you

  2. I’m so glad you are enjoying the song, Barbara. I’m not a fan of surgery and I feel for you.

    Blessings, Julie

      Namaste Julie:
I am not a “fan” as well, only this time is a no choice situation, unless I want to risk having a full blown stroke. I must think of my daughter as well as 2 grandchildren ages 5 & 3.
I, of course searched this amazing man, only to find lots of information about him. His music is an offspring of Georgian Chant which completes me. It is my needed tonic to keep me going. I wish it were piped into ICU, as I know it would help my recovery time.
Surgeons have their music in operating rooms, so we should have equal time in recovery if it helps the healthy process. .Possibly when I am well I will find a suggestion box to voice my opinion once again.
Thank you every so much for introducing me to this amazing artist. Happy week-end

      Blessings, Barbara

      • Namaste, Barbara. It sounds like this is one of the good surgeries, something that will extend your life and give you more of a chance to love your family and be loved by them.

Does anyone in your family have an ipod that you could use to hear your favourite music when you need it the most? I think having an ipod is the greatest. I just borrow CDs for free from the local library, record them onto an ipod, and then listen to whatever I want to at all hours of the day or night without disturbing anyone.

Hoping this is a useful tip,
        Julie

Blessings and thank you Julie. That is a great idea I will look into. I was told I will be in ICU so I am not sure if it would work but will check it out anyway. My daughter maybe can help me figure it out.

          Blessings, Barbara

  3. You’re welcome, Barbara. I hope you’ll keep in touch and let us know that you have gotten through your surgery in one piece.

    Julie
